alucoat365

ALUMINUM-COATED FIBER · EMI SHIELDING · WET-LAID
alucoat365 material

alucoat365 is a high-end class of wet-laid papers and nonwoven materials made from aluminum-coated Alucoat® glass or basalt fibers combined with an organic binder system. The aluminum coating provides metal-like electrical and thermal conductivity, while the mineral fiber substrate ensures high stiffness, tensile strength, and dimensional stability — making alucoat365 ideal for EMI shielding and electrostatic discharge (ESD) applications.

alucoat365 is porous and 3D-formable, suitable for resin infusion and complex mold shapes.

EMI shielding Up to ~20 dB (single layer, 0–2700 MHz)
Areal weight 35–150 gsm
Fiber base >90% aluminum-coated glass or basalt fibers
Fiber length 6 mm or 12 mm
Binder content <10% (PVA / Acrylate)
Porosity & formability Porous — gases, liquids and resin can pass through; 3D moldable
EMI shielding in electronics & enclosures
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) — flooring & laminates

Frequently Asked Questions

alucoat365 is a wet-laid nonwoven material made from aluminum-coated Alucoat® glass or basalt fibers combined with a low-content organic binder system (<10%). The aluminum coating provides metal-like electrical and thermal conductivity, while the mineral fiber substrate ensures high stiffness and tensile strength — making it suitable for EMI shielding and electrostatic discharge (ESD) applications.

Depending on areal weight and construction, alucoat365 achieves shielding effectiveness of up to approximately 20 dB for a single material layer, measured as an average across 0–2700 MHz. Multiple layers can be stacked to increase shielding performance. The 100 gsm variant achieves approximately 18–20 dB in this frequency range.

alucoat365 is based on more than 90% aluminum-coated mineral fibers — specifically Alucoat® glass or basalt fibers — combined with a low-content organic binder system (PVA or acrylate). The aluminum coating is the key functional element, providing the continuous conductive network throughout the material.

Standard areal weights are 35, 80, 100, and 150 g/m² with corresponding thicknesses of approximately 0.35, 0.78, 1.00, and 1.17 mm at 0.1 kPa. All standard variants are supplied at 600 mm (24") width on 76 mm cardboard cores or as sheets. Other areal weights or fiber-binder combinations are available on request.

Yes. The wet-laid manufacturing process ensures that alucoat365 remains porous, allowing gases, liquids, and resin to pass through the material. The material is also highly flexible and suitable for 3D molding processes — it can be shaped to fit complex forms without losing its functional conductive properties.

Yes. Fiber length (6 mm or 12 mm), areal weight, thickness, binder system, and sheet structure can all be tailored to application-specific requirements.
