poly365 material

poly365 describes a group of wet-laid papers and nonwoven materials made from high-performance polymer fibers — PEEK, polyimide, and aramid. With features such as electrical insulation, outstanding thermal and chemical stability, strong mechanical properties, and low weight, these materials are designed for electrical and thermal applications where commodity polymers fail.

poly365 can also incorporate polyester or other synthetic fibers on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

poly365 is a family of wet-laid papers and nonwovens made from high-performance polymer fibers such as polyimide (PI), PEEK, and aramid. The materials are electrically insulating, thermally stable at temperatures where commodity plastics like PE, PP, PVC, and PS fail, chemically resistant, and lightweight — available in areal weights from 8 gsm with binder content below 10%.

poly365 can be manufactured from polyimide, PEEK, and aramid fibers as primary materials. On request, polyester or other synthetic fibers can be incorporated as blend components. Fiber blends and fiber lengths (6 mm or 12 mm) can be tailored to specific application requirements.

Depending on the polymer fiber class, poly365 materials offer continuous temperature resistance up to approximately 300–350 °C with excellent dimensional stability under long-term thermal load. At these temperatures, commodity polymers (PE, PP, PVC, PS) have already failed structurally, making poly365 the appropriate choice for demanding thermal environments.

poly365 combines intrinsic electrical insulation with high thermal stability, making it ideal for slot liners, phase insulation, and layer insulation in electric motors, generators, and transformers operating under elevated thermal loads. The wet-laid structure ensures uniform thickness and consistent dielectric properties across the sheet — critical for reliable insulation performance in series production.

Typical areal weights range from 8 to 20 g/m², with thicknesses achievable below 100 µm. Areal weights below 10 gsm are possible, enabling extremely lightweight and material-efficient insulation designs. Areal weight, thickness, fiber length, binder system, and mechanical properties can all be adapted to specific customer requirements.

Yes. In battery modules and energy storage systems, poly365 is used as an electrically insulating and thermally stable separator or protection layer. Its uniform wet-laid structure supports reliable insulation performance while its low areal weight (from 8 gsm) contributes to lightweight system design — both critical in e-mobility applications.

Yes. Areal weight, thickness, fiber length (6 mm or 12 mm), binder system (<10%), fiber type, and mechanical properties can be tailored to specific application requirements. poly365 is produced using scalable wet-laid technology suitable for industrial series production. Standard formats include rolls on 76 mm cores and sheets; widths and formats can be customized.
